“This came up on a list of Best Buy sale movies recently. Somewhere along the line in my travels I’d heard that it was a good one. And we all know I can’t pass up a cheap BluRay.
Such a cute and quirky film, I loved it! Paul Giamatti is a lawyer with a struggling practice, and part time coach to an even more struggling wrestling team. Desperate to try and fix things, he arranges to be guardian to one of his elderly clients, but leaves him in an assisted living facility while collecting his fee. One day, the man’s grandchild shows up on his doorstep. Giamatti reluctantly takes him in while trying to sort out the situation, and discovers that the kid is a pretty good wrestler. Things get complicated from there as he tries to find the easiest solution to his growing mound of problems.
Again, just so adorably quirky, and full of heart. Very fun characters with a great cast that also included Amy Ryan, Bobby Cannavale, Jeffrey Tambour, and Melanie Lynskey. Even while gaming during the movie, I was still completely absorbed. I really don’t know that there’s much else to be said other than I enthusiastically throw my support behind this one”
