“Oh high school. Such gawdawful memories there. I saw this soon after starting at MIT, and with that shiny new outside perspective I was just floored by the film. It really does get a damn good image of the suckitude of dealing with unpopularity, and its so quotably funny too! The way I typically describe this film is Heathers with a body count.
I actually just watched this a couple weeks ago with my BFF. I always say that the two of us are Jack and Karen from Will & Grace. He insists we’re Janis and Damien from Meal Girls. I think the more accurate statement would be that we’re Janis and Jack.
Major shout out for the supporting cast. First big film for both Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried (who steals every last scene she’s in). Then of course, there’s the brilliance of Tina Fey who also wrote the screenplay. I say this every time she’s in a movie, but pleeeeease can I be her when I grow up? That might gimme reason enough to wanna grow up.”
